CRESTLINE, Calif., July 24 (Inland Empire News Online) — A small black bear pushed open the front door of the Crestline Village Water District office in Crestline and wandered inside for a few minutes Wednesday, according to surveillance video from the district and staff who watched the encounter unfold.

The bear entered the lobby around 12:15 p.m., stayed there for about two minutes and then briefly moved into the main office before heading back out, staff said. Employees said no customers were inside and no one was in danger.

The district said the bear did not damage the office, though staff reported nose prints on the doors. One office manager said the animal appeared to be “just cruising through” and left calmly.

Staff watched the bear leave the building and head back toward the woods in the San Bernardino Mountains. The office is in Crestline, in the Inland Empire section of San Bernardino County.
