VICTORVILLE, Calif., July 17 (High Desert News Online) — Costco food courts across California have started selling chicken strips, a new $6.99 menu item that comes with five strips and dipping sauce, according to menu signs and employee accounts from stores in the state.
SFGATE reported the item appeared July 11 at warehouses in Alhambra, Los Feliz and Bakersfield’s Rosedale Highway location after workers at those stores confirmed the change by phone. A Santa Rosa employee told the outlet the strips arrived July 6, and a Concord worker said they had been available for “a few days” by July 15.
Victor Valley News reported the item at the Victorville warehouse at 14555 Valley Center Drive, describing crispy chicken strips served with sauce. Menu signs cited by SFGATE listed the dish at 1,130 to 1,640 calories.
In the California stores checked by SFGATE, the chicken strips appeared to replace the calzone. The reporting reviewed for this story described the item variously as chicken tenders, chicken strips or breaded chicken breast strips.
