WASHINGTON, July 12 (DC Times Online) — Democratic strategist James Carville used a Friday Politicon video to attack far-left Democrats, arguing that their message could drag the party toward a defeat like the one Democrats suffered in 2016.

Carville pointed to recent Democratic wins by Brad Lander, Darializa Avila Chevalier and Melat Kiros and said a wing of the party he described as “insurgent” was “running against both parties.” He urged Democrats not to “fall for the allure of false prophets.”

He also singled out Michigan candidate Abdul El-Sayed, saying, “These people are so f—ing stupid I don’t know what to say about it,” and, “You are part of the problem because you’re a f—ing idiot!”

Carville framed the dispute as an electoral warning, saying Democrats should not blame both parties for the party’s troubles and suggesting that the left’s approach could help set up a backlash similar to 2016, when Donald Trump won the White House.
