CALHOUN COUNTY, SOUTH CAROLINA, June 20 (Infinite Headlines) — The Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office said six people have been arrested on assault and breach-of-peace charges after a June 6 brawl at the 601 Sand Bar on the Congaree River in South Carolina.

The fight happened during the annual Sparkleberry Duck Run, Sheriff Thomas Summers said. He said more than 20 people were involved and at least three were injured.

Summers said alcohol was a factor and deputies found numerous cases of underage drinking. He said the injuries ranged from swollen eyes to head injuries.

The sheriff’s office named the arrested suspects as Brendan Bonds, Hunter Dalzell, Lucas Scott, Edward Scott, Austin Mizzell and Taylor Knudson. The office said the investigation is still active and that additional arrests are expected as detectives review video and public submissions.

Authorities have not publicly said what started the fight.
