NEW YORK, June 9 (DC Times Online) — President Donald Trump drew a mixed reaction from the Madison Square Garden crowd when he was shown on the arena video board during the national anthem at Game 3 of the NBA Finals, Fox News reported.
The June 8 game in New York City featured the New York Knicks and the San Antonio Spurs, according to Fox News. A Getty Images caption by photographer Samuel Corum also placed Trump at the start of Game 3 at Madison Square Garden.
Fox News reported that some fans cheered when Trump appeared on the screen, but that boos were louder as he saluted from a suite.
Trump was shown alongside his granddaughter, Kai Trump, and Knicks owner James Dolan, according to Fox News. The outlet reported that Kai Trump was on the president’s right and Dolan was on his left.
The reaction was different from the one Trump received at the College Football National Championship at Hard Rock Stadium, where Fox News reported the crowd cheered when he appeared on the stadium video board during the national anthem.
Fox News also reported that the arena video returned to NYPD officers holding flags on the court after Trump was shown.
